8 years, 9 months, 10 days in the making...
After 8 years, 9 months, and 10 days, John decided to make that giant leap: engagement. The morning of August 31st, 2013, John and Erica hopped into the car and headed down to New Orleans. Once they get down into the French Quarter, John and Erica roam through a few cigar shops and Erica's favorite store, Fleurty Girl. By lunchtime, they were quite hungry & grabbed a bite to eat at Cafe' Maspero's, the best in town! After lunch, they went down & walked around the French Market
Once they got back to the Jackson Square area, they decided to get a caricature done! They noticed one street artist did charcoal portraits, which looked pretty good! After waiting a few minutes, and moseying around the shops nearby, John and Erica took their seats. The drawing took almost an hour! Little did Erica know, John's hands were sweating the whole time! When the artist was done, he asked us to walk into Jackson Square to reveal his masterpiece to us. When he flipped the picture around, Erica saw their sketched faces and a question written at the bottom: "Will you marry me?" John got down on bended knee, and said "Erica, you're my best friend. Will you marry me?" And of course, Erica said "YES!"
They quickly went to go home to start spreading the joyous news. But not before being stopped by a bachelorette party to take their picture, and in return got a picture taken of them. John surprised Erica with a completely custom designed ring, adorned with black diamonds, to boot! Now they are planning the Best Day Ever!
